About the event:
The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the right to development cordially invites you to a HLPF side event “Promoting participation in national review processes: Jointly advancing the right to development and the SDGs." The panel discussion will focus on measures put in place by States to involve all relevant stakeholders in gathering data and preparing voluntary national reports. How do we ensure the process leaves no one behind?

Participants will discuss how to strengthen the voice and participation of communities, non-governmental and grass-roots organizations, women, youth, minorities, indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups and individuals at all levels and during all phases of the process of gathering data and drafting the voluntary national reports. Participants will also exchange views on involving policy makers, UN agencies and other stakeholders in promoting dialogue, increasing participation and addressing inequalities.
