The Four Nations Initiative is a joint effort launched by Sweden, Chile, Thailand, South Africa in 2005 to address the governance and management systems of the United Nations.
The final report, Towards a Compact: Proposals for Improved Governance and Management at the UN Secretariat was released on Thursday 13 September 2007 in New York. It contains 32 specific proposals on improved governance and management of the UN Secretariat, as seen from a Member States perspective, and is offered as a contribution to the ongoing processes in the UN, with the objective of providing new ideas and a point of departure for further discussions.
